Megascales FAQ
What is a megascale raid?
A megascale is where a group of players can set the difficulty of Cox to be higher by "scaling" it to 100 players. There are about 40 accounts actually in the raid, and additional 60 is setup via scaling to make the "100 scale". Doing so drastically increases the damage and health of every monster in the raid, however players get a lot more points, meaning the highest chance of purples at the end of the raid!
Is Coxie being boosted?
(this one hurts to write)
No, Coxie is an "equal" contributor to the raid, and is not having others log out or intentionally boost his chance of receiving the purple at the end of the raid
How long does a megascale take?
A megascale takes around 2(ish) hours in total, and around an hour of that is for Olm alone. Olm has 9 phases + his final head phase
Why is this the best for pet?
Each raid carries a 65% chance for 3 players to get a purple (and a chance for a 4th!), because the Olmlet pet is only rolled when receiving a purple at a rate of 1/53, this is the best purples/hour method for Coxie to do.
How can I get into megas?
The best resource for this as a starting place is the scaled raids discord - https://discord.com/invite/mVnT3YWAJX
Did the nerfs Jagex made affect you?
Because Coxie wasn't boosting purples by logging out other accounts, the method he and his teams are using has not changed. The biggest change was the death mechanics being far more punishing now, if (when) coxie lags (dies grabbing a beer from the fridge) he loses either 40% of his personal points, or 5% of the total team's points, whichever is higher.
